The Idem Connected Pill Dispenser is a secure, automated medication dispenser designed to simplify medication routines at home. It is built for people living with mild to moderate cognitive impairment and the caregivers who support them.

Working together with the Idem Smart Clock, the pill dispenser provides clear visual and audio reminders and automatically releases the correct dose at the scheduled time. Once the medication is taken, a confirmation is sent in real time to the Idem mobile app, so caregivers can stay informed.

Unlike many automated pill dispensers, setup and adjustments can be made directly through the Idem mobile app. Caregivers can manage medication schedules either in person or remotely, making it easy to update routines when prescriptions change—without needing to reprogram the device manually.

The Idem Pill Dispenser can operate plugged in or on battery power, allowing it to adapt to different home environments.

The device includes identification rings in both English and French for daily medication schedules (1–4 times per day), along with blank rings for full customization.

Choosing the right lid: opaque vs. transparent?

We offer two types of lids to suit different needs and preferences:

Opaque white lid: May be a better choice for someone who feels anxious when seeing their medications and tends to take them in advance.

Transparent lid: May be better suited for someone who prefers to see their upcoming doses and feels reassured by visual reminders of what’s left to take.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution — some people feel anxious when they see their medications, while others may feel anxious if they can’t. It’s important to consider what helps reduce stress for your loved one when choosing a lid.

How it works:

• Program medication times via the Idem mobile app

• Fill the 28 compartments and lock the pill dispenser (you can purchase additional keys if needed)

• At the scheduled time:

  • The pill dispenser rotates to deliver the correct dose

  • The Idem clock rings and displays a reminder
    

• Once the pill dispenser is turned to release the dose:

  • The reminder stops automatically

  • A confirmation is sent to the caregivers
