The Idem clock for seniors and people living with dementia shows the time, date, day of the week and moment of the day on a large and easy-to-read display. This feature minimizes risk of confusion and behaviours related to disorientation that may occur.

• With the Idem companion app caregivers can manage the clock remotely with 5 communication features: 
  1. Schedule reminders and alarms (e.g. medication intake)
  2. Send messages (e.g. personal, loving and encouraging messages)
  3. Display notes (e.g. let them know when you will return)
  4. Show upcoming events (e.g. appointments)
  5. Stay connected by seeing your loved one in real time with video call

How to set up the Idem Clock and App

We made the set up very easy for caregivers!

1. Download the Idem companion app on a phone and/or tablet (available for android and iOS) and create your account.

2. Plug the Idem clock into an electrical outlet (and connect the clock to the Wi-Fi (no Wi-Fi set up needed if subscribed to the mobile data plan).

3. Link the clock to your Idem companion app by entering the provided activation code.

4. Introduce the clock to your loved one. (Read Idem’s tips!)

How to connect your clock to the internet? 

The connectivity of the Idem clock is configured through the companion app once you receive the clock. The Idem clock can connect to the internet in two ways:

• Wi-Fi: Connect the clock to a Wi-Fi network (no subscription required).
• Or Mobile Connectivity: Subscribe for $9/month or $99/year (save $10) for mobile connectivity provided by Idem. The included SIM card is ready to use. You can modify or cancel your subscription at any time through the Idem app.You can choose to opt-in or cancel your subscription at any time.

In rare cases, the clock may not connect to certain public Wi-Fi networks, such as those found in some senior living facilities. In these situations, we recommend using our mobile connectivity service ($9/month) to ensure a reliable connection.

Video Calling 

Stay connected with your loved one with ease thanks to the video calling feature directly available from the Idem App. Your loved one answers on their Idem Clock — with no extra device and no new app to learn.

Starting January 14th, the video calling feature will be part of our new Premium plan, at a cost of $18 per month. You can subscribe directly in the Idem Companion App (starting January 13th).
